Overview:
The Purchasing/Buyer Agent works with Sales, Production, Scheduling, and Engineering in a fast-paced environment to request quotes and place orders for the materials and services necessary to manufacture precision parts. This position requires the ability to determine material needs based on a customer’s forecasts and orders, requests from various departments, and recent history. Responsibilities also include supplier negotiations for optimal pricing and stocking.
Essential Functions and Requirements:
3 years of experience in related purchasing arena (required)
AA degree, Bachelor's Degree and/or APICS Certification (preferred)
Experience in commodity buying (preferred)
Strong time-management skills and must be able to multi-task and meet daily deadlines
Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
Excellent negotiation skills for procured products and services
Proficiency using Microsoft (MS) Suite software with emphases on Excel and Word
Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems. Experience with ERP - Global Shop is a plus
Ability to understand material lead-time planning in relationship to product Bill of Material (BOM), manufacturing requirements, and scheduling
Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtain price and delivery quotes
Generate daily purchase orders to fulfill material and outside service needs
Monitor and manage inventory levels
Source new suppliers for materials and service needs
Negotiate stocking and pricing programs
Evaluate supplier quality and delivery performance
Manage open orders and resolve purchase order issues
Coordinate with production team and vendors to meet manufacturing deadlines
Perform other requirements as directed by management

Successful candidates must pass pre-placement drug test
Full-time position (4 days/week, 10 hours/day)
