As the Shelter Manager, you’ll lead a team of 8 or more staff (and related volunteers) in daily shelter operations, including facilities/cleaning, retail sales, animal care, adoptions, and customer support. You’ll be responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and ongoing coaching for your team. This position also works directly with the public to address and resolve customer support issues. You’ll collaborate with the Director of Operations and other staff to create, implement, update, and oversee adherence to shelter policies and procedures. This position is a vital member of the leadership team and provides input and monitoring on both departmental and organizational plans and goals.

For success in this role, it’s ideal to have at least two years experience working in an animal shelter, customer service skills and interest (including conflict resolution and de-escalation skills), and experience managing both programs and teams. This is a fast-paced, team-based environment and the ability to direct staff and maximize impact is a must.

This is a full-time, salaried position working approx 40 hours per week, Wed-Sun (or potentially Tue-Sat). CAT offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes PTO and paid holidays, health insurance and 403(b) options, an Employee Assistance Program, and other great perks. The salary for this position is $65,000 – $70,000 annually.
