Powell's Books, the nation's top independent bookseller, has an opening for a Large Buy Specialist at our NW Industrial Warehouse.

The primary role of the Large Buy Specialist is to hunt down and process unique books in order to broaden what Powell’s offers on its shelves to ensure we maintain our reputation as a magical place for book lovers.
Large Buys are bulk purchases of books that were purchased as a collection, often from shuttered bookstores or from collectors. This position will focus on Large Buy Receiving, data entry, and distribution. It will also provide opportunities to support the acquisition and assessment of off-site buys, working closely with the Used Book Coordinator in evaluating, packing & transporting buys. The successful candidate for this position will purchase and distribute these used titles efficiently considering the inventory needs of all locations, and will take the lead on smaller buys and in the more complex elements of processing Large buys. The Large Buy Specialist will work in a leadership role to help train, and establish better processes on the team. Flexibility, adaptability, and curiosity will be important.
The schedule for this position will be 9am – 5pm, Monday - Friday.

Compensation is $18.00 per hour, or more, depending on experience.
