Powell's Books, the world’s largest independent bookstore, is looking to hire for positions at our Retail Distribution Center in Northwest Portland.
Positions within the Retail Distribution Center provide a necessary service that ensures our store locations receive the products they need to operate effectively. They offer a rare opportunity to work with the entire life cycle of a book, and other Powell’s merchandise from dock to a customer’s hand. Positions will be working with the RDC teams, which include Online Buyback, New Books receiving & returns, Gifts receiving, and the Replenishment team which works heavily with remainders and used books. These roles also entail assisting with other duties within the Industrial Warehouse as needed. It is a dynamic and multifaceted role within the retail and inventory environments, that involves many essential aspects of bookselling and foundational Powell’s process knowledge.

The starting wage for these positions is $15.95 per hour, with a wage increase to $17.00 effective the first day of the pay period following the 31st calendar day from hire.

Shifts will be 9am – 5pm. Schedules will either be Monday - Friday or Sunday - Thursday, for a 37.5-hour workweek.
