We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardwood Flooring Installer & Refinisher to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, sanding, staining, and finishing hardwood flooring in residential and commercial settings. The ideal candidate has strong craftsmanship skills, a solid understanding of flooring materials and tools, and the ability to deliver high-quality work with excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Install hardwood, engineered wood, and laminate flooring according to project specifications
Measure, cut, and fit flooring materials with precision
Prepare subfloors, including leveling, patching, and moisture testing
Sand, stain, and finish hardwood floors using professional equipment
Repair or replace damaged flooring, boards, and transitions
Apply protective coatings and sealants to ensure durability and appearance
Operate tools such as table saws, edgers, belt sanders, buffers, and finish applicators
Maintain a clean and safe job site
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members
Ensure all work complies with building codes and company quality standards
Qualifications
Proven experience installing and refinishing hardwood flooring
Strong knowledge of flooring materials, installation methods, and finishing techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and measurements
Skilled with flooring tools and equipment
Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work on hands and knees for extended periods
Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Skills (Optional)
Experience with custom inlays, borders, or pattern work (e.g., herringbone, chevron)
Certification from NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association)
Experience working in occupied homes with minimal disruption
Basic carpentry or trim-work skills

Full-time position; hours may vary depending on project needs
