Lead Painter / Crew Leader – Path to Production Manager

Portland Painting & Restoration Inc. (PPR) is looking for a skilled Lead Painter / Crew Leader ready to take the next step in their career. This position starts in the field on a few jobs with our current lynch pins & leading crews for a bit before transitioning to more oversight — with the opportunity to advance into a Painting Project Production Manager role after proving strong leadership, communication, and job management skills.
We’re seeking someone who’s Professional, non-bias, mastered their trade, understands quality work, production practices/expectations, Safety Culture, Timeline Management/Change Orders, and is ready to help oversee larger projects and multiple crews, and most Importantly Transparent Customer Communications Management.

Your Role
Lead a professional painting crew through daily prep, application, and cleanup.
Ensure safe, clean, and efficient jobsite setup — Especially lead-safe containment & immediate clean up as required.
Communicate daily with management and clients, providing updates, daily production photos and feedback.
Handle field problem-solving and coordinate with office and PM staff on solutions.
Maintain exceptional quality and detail — Strong Set ups, Prep checks, & final client walkthroughs.
Model Organization(tidy jobsite), safety and professionalism on every job.
Opportunity to train directly with senior staff to grow into a Project Manager role if proven to be organized and capable, this would entail overseeing 2 - 5 crews.
Requirements
5+ years experience as a Lead Painter, Foreman, or Crew Leader.
Deep understanding of painting systems, prep, primers, finishes, and safety protocols.
EPA Lead-Safe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Leadership mindset and ability to represent PPR’s quality and professionalism.
Bi-Lingual is a plus(not required)
Compensation & Growth
Starting wage: $26–$30+/hour DOE
Clear path to advancement into Production Manager position (after field evaluation)
