Accounting Clerk/ Office Assistant
Express Employment Professionals is now hiring for an Accounting Clerk/ Office Assistant for a Salem manufacturing company. This immediate need position is long term/ evaluation to hire and a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting associate to work with a reputable business!
This position will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and payroll. In addition, they will provide support in customer service and sales while also completing general office administrative tasks.
Responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable-
Receive and document invoices and obtain authorization/approval for invoice to post in accounting system
Enter and audit invoices into system
Prepare/distribute checks weekly
Enter information for purchase orders and maintain purchase order records
Maintain and file all invoices and supporting documentation
Answer questions from employees and vendors regarding status of account and AP
Assist in preparing reports, 1099s, and other documents as needed
Reconciling accounts and transactions
Additional duties as assigned
Accounts Receivable-
Post customer payments into accounting system
Retrieve daily banking and ACH reports
Contact customers for payment status and collections
Investigate and solve account discrepancies
Collection notifications and calls
Customer service/ Sales-
Processing payments by customers via phone/ online
Prepare invoices, shipping documents, confirmations, and bills of lading
Call/ update customers for inquiries regarding deliveries, freight scheduling, billing, pricing, etc.
Answer routine questions/ provide customer support
Office Administration:
Frequent data entry throughout day
Inventory reports/ and physical inventory accounts when needed
Filing and maintaining documents
Customer/vendor communications when needed
Skills Needed:
Accurate and cautious making sure entries are exact when putting into system
Tech savvy and able to learn new software quickly
Reliable- cannot miss work in first 90 days of employment
Self starting/ investigative nature to solve problems and make it right
Strong data entry skills
Strong AP/AR skills
Attention to detail
Follow through
Experience needed:
Minimum of 2 years experience with AP and AR
Proficiency in MS Excel
High school Diploma/GED
Excellent customer service skills
This is an evaluation to hire position- Immediate need!
Located in Salem, Oregon
Pay: $16-19 DOE
Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am-4pm
