Job Title: Adult Foster Home Caregiver
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Adult Foster Home Caregiver to provide daily
care, supervision, and support for adults with cognitive disabilities in a foster home setting. The
caregiver will assist with Daily Leaving Activities, ensure a safe and comfortable living
environment, and promote independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Care & Assistance: Help residents with personal hygiene, dressing, mobility,
and meal preparation based on their needs.
Medication Management: Administer and monitor medications as prescribed, ensuring
adherence to medical guidelines.
Health & Safety Monitoring: Observe residents for changes in health, mood, or
behavior and report concerns to healthcare providers or supervisors.
Household Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment,
including laundry, cleaning, and meal planning.
Emotional & Social Support: Provide companionship, encouragement, and
engagement in social activities to enhance residents’ quality of life.
Transportation Assistance: Schedule a transportation for residents ‘medical
appointments, community activities, as needed.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of care, medications,
behaviors, and any incidents per foster home regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in caregiving, healthcare, or assisted living (preferred).
Knowledge of aging-related conditions, and mental health support.
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
Ability to handle medical emergencies calmly.
Basic cooking and housekeeping skills.
Must pass background checks, drug screening, and foster care training
requirements.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Work Environment:
Work in a home setting, providing personalized, 24-hour care (depending on shift or
live-in arrangement).
May involve light lifting, assisting with mobility, and responding to emergencies.
Requires emotional resilience and adaptability to support individuals with various
needs.
