We are a small operation that farms grass seed and blackberries, and custom harvests seed corn.
We are looking to add another person to our team to help assist with farming activities. Some of the duties will entail:
- Help fabricate new farm equipment, along with updating existing equipment. Experience and ability with a cutting torch, plasma and plasma tables, welding, and fabrication required.
- Help maintain farm equipment and harvesters both during harvest and during the off season in the shop. Experience and the ability to diagnose and repair farm equipment required.
- Help with general farming actives.
- Help manage crews in the field:
- During blackberry harvest - July and August
- During seed corn harvest - Late August, September, and October
- Installation of new blackberry fields
- Maintenance of existing blackberry fields
Compensation Options:
- Full time
- Compensation DOE and whether housing is needed or not.
- Housing available, 2 bedroom with full basement on a farm.
- Overtime after 40 hours.
- January, February, March, April, and May - typically 40 hour weeks
- June, July, August, September, and October- typically 45 to 80 hour weeks.
- November and December - typically 40 hours weeks.
Other items:
- Basic computer skills; emails, spreadsheets, docs, notes, etc.
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English helpful, but not required.
- Ability to work on your feet and move across uneven farm ground to assist with or do task required, along with the ability to lift 50 to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
- Valid drivers license is required, with the ability to be added to our insurance.
- Ideally will enjoy doing a variety of tasks.
- Be able to work long hours during the harvest season.
- Be able to travel out of town for work for 8 to 10 weeks during the harvest season.
- Housing available, 2 bedroom with full basement on a farm.
