Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater West is seeking a Scientist I to join our team! The Scientist I is responsible for preparing and analyzing environmental samples using established scientific and EPA-approved analytical techniques. This role ensures all work is performed in full compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America' s Quality Assurance programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Scientist I supports accurate, timely, and high quality data generation by following validated methodologies, maintaining strict adherence to laboratory safety and quality standards, and documenting all activities according to regulatory and internal requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Set up and analyze microbiology samples including potable water, non-potable water, and soilSet up and analyze inorganic potable and non-potable water samplesUnderstand and interpret Oregon Health Authority rules and regulationsAssist clients in person, by email, and over the phoneReceive, log, and process client samplesMaintain the laboratory in clean and excellent working orderMaintain laboratory supply inventory, perform QC checks, and prepare Certificates of AnalysisPrepare reagents or media for compliance and environmental testingPerform monthly environmental monitoringMaintain the laboratory filing systemDocument laboratory functions in logbooks and computer systemsPerform proficiency testing for Oregon's Environmental Laboratory Accreditation ProgramAssist manager with tasks independently as neededAnalyze samples on weekends when requiredOther duties that may be assigned as needed
