Provides developmentally appropriate curriculum to promote the physical and cognitive growth of children.
Supports the social, emotional development, cognitive development, and cultural values of the children.
Provides ongoing documentation to record each child's developmental progress.
Assists in the assessment of each child's progress and creates goals and objectives based on their developmental progress.
Demonstrates knowledge of the children and the family's social, linguistic, and cultural diversity in their daily lives.
Interacts with children in a variety of ways through rest, creative expression, and active movement.
Assists children to learn socially appropriate behavior through guidance consistent with the child's level of development.
Promotes safe and healthy habits daily for the children measured daily by observation.
Utilizes observation, anecdotal notes, and portfolios to document each child's progress on a weekly basis.
Provides input for the preparation of the lesson plan and helps prepare materials relating to the learning activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Specialized Diploma CDA with 2 years experience or
Associate's Degree with 15 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education.
3 years experience related to the care and development of children.
First Aid Certificate - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development/Family Studies, or Early Childhood Special Education.
