Provides nursing services, helps to carry out physician orders, responds and reports to attending/radiologist any changes in condition, oversees the distribution of medications, charts medications, distributes/counts narcotics, and responds to emergencies.Job Duties

Assesses patients prior to their procedures by studying patient medical histories, reviewing patient history and Lab values, and speaking with both patients and their physicians.

Administers conscious sedation per hospital policy.

Helps patients better understand the procedures they need and serves as a liaison between the patient, nursing staff, and physician. Attends to the needs of the patient while in Radiology. Provides proper patient care, comfort, and understanding at all times.

Communicates with RN or patient's physician any change in status, medications given, and any intervention taken, including transportation of patient back to unit if indicated. Initiates post procedure orders and communicates all pertinent data to the nursing unit and accompanies patient to unit, if indicated

Discharges patient from interventional per Aldrette score/Anesthesia guidelines.

Inputs all LDA lines in EPic. Documents that a implanted supply has been exported in patients chart in EPic.

Responds to all code blues and RRT within Radiology. Assists radiologists and code teams as needed.

Collaborates with Pediatric Intensivist for sedation of Pediatric cases. Follows PALS guidelines.

Performs pre and post procedure telephone calls for outpatients.

Follows National Patient Safety Goals including complete Invasive Procedure Checklist and patient identification. Completes patient safety reports, as indicated.

Serves as a clinical resource for the nursing staff, patients, and healthcare providers.

Maintains equipment and room cleanliness. Puts unused supplies away and restocks as needed. Assumes responsibility for cleanliness and sanitation of the immediate work area. Does light housekeeping. Maintains orderliness.

Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Assumes responsibility and acco ntability for his/her own safety and the safety of others.

Assists in the education and training of new employees, students, and other ancillary personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree Nursing

3 years Experience in medical/surgical nursing and

1 year Critical care

Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patients needs that are age appropriate.

Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for age group of patient served.

Ability to administer moderate sedation, dysrhythmia recognition, and treatment.

Able to work under stressful situtations.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 90 Days

ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 90 Days

PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 90 Days

RN - Licensed Registered NursePA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Nursing
