THE POSITION

Are you experienced in the fields of auditing and accounting? The Department of Health (DOH) is seeking a Director, Division of Finance to join our team in the Bureau of Finance and Administration to be responsible for reviewing financial statements submitted by nursing care facilities throughout the state in accordance with regulatory requirements. In this role, you will work either independently or as part of a team to identify facilities that may be at risk due to their financial standing. You will manage the design and application of auditing methodologies using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure sound financial practices of all public and private nursing home care facilities in Pennsylvania, and conduct audits in suspected areas of fraud and abuse. You will direct research on facility ownership utilizing public and private sources and databases and review reports of audit findings to determine the best course of action. You will manage the review and analysis of the financial well-being and business posture of various public and private nursing care facilities or groups of nursing care facilities. Additionally, you will review audit reports and plans of correction prepared by the Audit Specialists 3 and determine the best course of action in consultation with the Bureau Director and Deputy Secretary of Quality Assurance, when necessary.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year experience as an Audit Specialist Supervisor, Auditor Supervisor, or Audit Specialist 3; or

Three years of auditing experience and four years of accounting and/or additional auditing work including or supplemented by one year of supervisory accounting or account auditing experience; and fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting, or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting, and three years of auditing experience including or supplemented by one year supervisory accounting or accounting auditing experience.
