Make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of workers in Pennsylvania with our team!DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will be responsible for providing employees and employers with information about state labor laws through public education programs and for conducting inspections and investigations, resolving disputes, and initiating prosecution against employers for violations which cannot be corrected through the administrative process. This includes educating contractors, organizations, employees, and public officials about laws, requirements, and recent legal decisions affecting employment law. Work involves receiving and screening complaints, requesting and reviewing documentation and physical evidence, conducting interviews in person and over the phone, inspecting businesses or projects, preparing verbal and written case narratives, and maintaining timely and detailed work notes of each case's progress. You will also represent the Commonwealth in civil and criminal District Justice hearings and testify as an expert witness in courts.As an Investigator, you will make decisions in collaboration with your supervisor as to the course of the investigation and when it is appropriate to write letters, have administrative conferences, or visit an establishment. Teamwork and effective communication skills are essential for working closely with the supervisor to determine what actions must be taken during and based on your investigations. Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
This position requires travel.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of technical investigative or construction and trades experience and a bachelor's degree; or
Two years of technical investigative or construction and trades experience and an associate's degree in a field related to investigative or construction and trades work; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.Additional Requirements:
You must live in or be willing to move to the geographic region the Pittsburgh District Office covers. Counties include: Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Crawford, Erie, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Washington, Westmoreland.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Experience in conducting investigations or working in construction and trades, business management, financial services, accounting, or conflict resolution.
An associate's degree or greater in a field related to investigative work, construction and trades, business management, financial services, accounting, or conflict resolution.
Experience enforcing labor standards or labor and employment laws.
Experience testifying at administrative or court hearings.How to Apply:
