THE POSITION

NOTE: Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole. DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn the role of a Parole Staff Technician 2, your responsibilities will include conducting thorough research, analysis, and evaluation of all violation hearing materials. You will also be tasked with establishing and managing case control systems to facilitate extradition processes, as well as reviewing and prioritizing incoming correspondence. Additionally, you will provide essential office support to ensure the smooth operation of daily tasks and procedures.

Full-time employment (37.50-hour work week)

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days a week after sufficient training. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65.

Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of 50,836 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Parole Staff Technician 1; or

Four years of clerical experience that included one year in the interpretation and analysis of sentences and case information of criminal offenders; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training that included one year in the interpretation and analysis of sentences and case information of criminal offenders.Special Requirement:You must obtain Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification within three months of employment and maintain this certification for the duration of employment in this job.Other Requirements:
