Role Overview: The Data Engineer will join our Information Services: Enterprise Architecture and Data team to build platforms and systems to manage, store, and transfer data leveraging a wide range of systems. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Data Engineering – data manipulation and productization of the use of data. Ability to build and optimize data pipelines, infrastructure, and workflows. Topics include dimension reduction, feature engineering, tagging/annotation Data cleansing, curation, harmonizing & packaging – data cleaning, relationship identification, pattern recognition, and web scraping Database modelling applying database modelling concepts (e.g., ER diagrams), database modelling tools and languages. Additional data & analytics skills – descriptive and diagnostic analytics, programming and model construction, data reporting and visualization Development and coding skills familiarity with cloud-based ETL tools, REST APIs, data warehousing tools, modular coding & pipeline automation, integration programming, source code management Experience & Education: Bachelor’s degree with quantitative, STEM focus (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems – other technical degrees will be considered). 5+ years of professional experience related to data, analytics, and insights, including: 3+ years of experience with SAP BW on HANA or BW/4 HANA 2+ years of experience with front end SAP Tools (Business Objects, SAP Analytics Cloud) 1+ years of experience with SAP Datasphere/Data Warehouse Cloud is preferred HANA Modeling, ABAP Programming and SQL Scripting experience is a must Experience working with data from various SAP Modules (Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Finance and other SAP modules) Experience with Relational databases (Azure SQL DB/DW/Synapse, Teradata, or Snowflake) is nice to have Familiar with information management practices, system development lifecycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations and EA and ITIL frameworks #LI-SM1 The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
