In this position, you will support all aspects of environmental compliance, ensuring that projects commence and advance as scheduled while confirming that the Department's design, construction, and maintenance operations adhere to state, federal, and local environmental laws, regulations, and standards. Additionally, you will aid in the coordination of the creation and assessment of environmental documents, which may include non-complex categorical exclusions, technical reports, and mitigation plans. It is essential to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will also assist in evaluating the potential impacts of transportation projects on landforms, air quality, noise, water quality, water resources, existing ecological conditions, land use, recreational facilities, socio-economic resources, and cultural resources.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of professional experience in local, regional, or state environmental planning; or
A Bachelor's degree in planning or environmental planning; and one year of professional experience in local, regional, or state environmental planning; or
A Master's degree in environmental planning; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
