Lead Pipe Layer/ Laborer
B&J Excavating is seeking a highly motivated experienced lead pipe layer/laborer. B&J Excavating is a site development company performing all phases of site development. Candidates should have prior experience working for a site work construction company.
Responsibilities:
Works with and assists the crew in digging ditches and trenches
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standers
Align and position pipes to prepare them for placement
Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using cement or glue
Cover pipes with earth or other materials
Cut pipes to required lengths
Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools
Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools
Install and repair sanitary and storm, water, sewer structures and pipe systems
Perform other tasks as required by management
Candidates should possess the following:
Highly Motivated
Well Organized
Experience working for a site contractor in the past
Must have driver’s and transportation
