The Director of Portfolio Development drives the strategic growth of our Journals portfolio through new acquisitions, partnerships, and market development initiatives. This senior leadership role will be instrumental in expanding our presence in the scholarly publishing landscape while maintaining our commitment to research excellence.What you'll be doing:Lead on the identification, evaluation, and execution of journal acquisition opportunities and strategic society partnerships across multiple research disciplinesRepresent the organization at events and conferences to build our network and identify new opportunitiesAnalyze market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decision-makingDevelop and implement innovative strategies to accelerate inorganic growth of our journals portfolio, including looking beyond standard journal acquisitions to assets that will complement our portfolio and broaden our range of offerings to customersWork closely with our colleagues in books on expansion opportunities to maximize value for T&F as a wholeBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including acquisition target representatives, society leaders, and brokersNavigate complex negotiations and close deals that create value for all parties while achieving our strategic and financial objectivesCollaborate with internal teams including editorial, operations, technology, marketing, and sale to ensure successful integration and growth of acquired titles
