Location: Philadelphia, PA (Cambria Health Center)POSITION SUMMARYThis is a full-time position within the Department of Family Medicine with clinical and teaching duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Family Medicine Physician will be responsible for:

Maintaining a clinical (teaching) practice

Assuring quality clinical care for healthcare center patients

Implementing the PCOM ambulatory care curricula for medical students

Using electronic medical records in the healthcare center

Teaching undergraduate students as assigned by the Chair/Medical Director

Assisting the Healthcare Center Medical Director (s) in the operations of the respective PCOM healthcare centers

Remaining current with all charting, billing, and administrative dutiesPOSITION REQUIREMENTSEducation

Must have a DO or MD degree and be residency trained and Board CertifiedExperience

Must have experience in clinical primary care

Teaching medical students strongly preferred

Previous knowledge/use of EHR preferredRequired Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Current board certification

Active Pennsylvania license to practice medicine/osteopathic medicine with no restrictions

Current DEA license with no restrictions

Tail coverage for malpractice insurancePhysical Demands

This position requires the individual to be ambulatory and be able to stand for at least 8 hours per day

Must be available for day, evening, and possibly some weekend work. Most work occurs during business hours.

Must be available for Healthcare Center on-call shared with a team of physiciansAdditional Position Responsibilities

This position reports to the respective Healthcare Center Medical Director(s) and the Chair of the Department of Family Medicine

Will supervise medical students in the clinical environment of the Healthcare Center

This position is for a full-time clinical faculty member, with support for resident curriculum development and administrative time for directing the service and participating in hospital quality and operational committees, as needed. Responsibilities will include: Providing excellent patient care to patients admitted to TJUH on general medicine, med-surg, observation, and step-down floors, covering patients who see providers at DFCM ambulatory practices. Covering 18 weeks per year of inpatient service at TJUH (7 days per week) working with a team of resident physicians, evaluating patients, creating treatment plans, ordering, reviewing test results, and communicating with patients and families.
