Assist with the care, feeding and psychological wellbeing of several large animal species on D Level.What you will do

1) Perform daily animal health checks (twice) and report any abnormal animal conditions to the veterinary medical or technical team as designated.

2) Feed all large animals the appropriate amount of feed twice daily, unless otherwise directed by the veterinarian.

3) Assist clinical veterinary and technical teams with animal manipulation and holding.

4) Receive and transfer large animals.

5) Clean and disinfect animal holding rooms according to established SOPs daily.

6) Sanitize all cage/rack units via the facility cage washer.

7) Maintain written records, logs, charts.Education Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED Required Experience Qualifications

At least one (1) year working with large animal species (i.e., USDA-covered species). Required and

At least two (2) years working with USDA regulated species. Required

At least one (1) year working with non-human primates and other large animal species. Preferred Licenses and Certifications

Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) - American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) - - Preferred or

Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) - American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) - - Preferred or

Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) - American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) - - Preferred
