ResponsibilitiesAbout The Salvation Army, Ivy Residence is a 127 1-bedroom apartment complex facility that houses senior citizens 62 years and older. Ivy Residence is located in the West Philadelphia section of Philadelphia. Ivy Residence is a facility that is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Description of Position: The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and condition of Ivy Residence I and II and surrounding property. This will include a daily routine cleaning schedule of all common areas, trash removal, inspection of units / property, complete work orders, painting, preventative maintenance and care and upkeep. QualificationsRequirements:
Experience in multifamily maintenance and experience involving affordable housing, senior housing, or special needs housing.
Must be able to keep information in a confidential and secure fashion.
Must have High School Diploma or GED and at least two years building maintenance experience.
Must be a self-starter who can work in an environment with multiple changing work priorities.
Good verbal and writing communication skills.
Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
