Are you living your life's work?The admissions registrar acts as the initial contact for patients and family to the Admissions Department/Ambulatory Surgery Facility. Verifies and registers patients in the SMS system. Explains all forms used and securing signatures on consents, authorization and financial agreement forms. Verifies and pre-certifies patient’s insurance information and ensures that information for billing is complete and accurate. Directs patient to the appropriate clinical area/nursing unit. Answers incoming calls to Admissions and performs required reception duties.Certifications/Degree Requirements, Skill Sets, Minimum Experience Required:· High school diploma or equivalent required.· Demonstrated coursework with Medical Terminology· Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a healthcare environment with direct patient contact· Previous registration experience with a thorough understanding of third party insurance coverage· Successful completion of SMS/IDX certification· Essential understanding of computer data entry in Windows environment· Available to work rotating and flexible schedules· Excellent verbal and written skills· Maintains a professional appearance· Consistently demonstrates a high degree of customer service skillsWe believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees. Some experience of communicating data via clean, visually compelling charts that help others understand.
