Leonardo is searching for a candidate who is motivated and has an eye for detail. We are in need of an experienced and responsible candidate with great communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills. An inspector is in charge of maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and making sure all technicians are complying with the company specifications and work instructions. Other duties include generating reports, approving finished products, and entering the accumulated data. This position comes with a great deal of responsibility. You will need to be available to work full-time and any certifications are a plus. The below position responsibilities are not intended to be all-inclusive and the candidate may also perform other minor tasks as assigned:
Inspect various aircraft components, accept or reject work completed, and sign all items on the work order and instruction when work meets required standards.
Be thoroughly familiar with the applicable specifications governing tolerances, limitations, inspection methods, and techniques used to determine the quality of the work performed.
Maintain knowledge of, and proficiency with, various types of specialized equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, height gages, etc., and the methods used for the inspection of equipment, components, and assemblies utilizing their blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and technical instructions.
Generate quality notifications and work instruction defects for any work, or parts, that have not been properly performed, or constructed, utilizing the companies database systems such as SAP or JIRA.
Must be able to move about freely in areas with moving aircraft and parts; handle heavy components (up to 50lbs) and work in areas where exposure to chemicals and fumes will occur.
Able to use Windows computer systems and the Microsoft office suite. Specifically excel, word, outlook, and powerpoint.
Must be able to clearly communicate quality requirements and non-conformities to technicians, supervisors, and production management.
Support the company safety and FOD program with dedicated inspections
Requirements:
HS education or equivalent. Requires valid certification in the field of aircraft Mechanics, electricity, and/or non-destructive testing or approved authorization to test. (A & P license, FCC 2nd class License).
Requires four years related experience in aircraft mechanical and/or electrical quality inspection activities.
A&P License a plus.
