Job Title: Senior Associate, Mechanical Engineer (New Grad - Philadelphia, PA) Job Code: 18719 Job Location: Philadelphia, PA Job Description: Under general supervision, the Sr. Associate, Mechanical Engineer is responsible for assisting lead mechanical engineers in design/analysis to support mechanical layout of power equipment and other Navy based electronic systems. This person assists in creating equipment layouts that satisfy system requirements and account for tradeoffs among thermal, mass properties, structural, and manufacturing considerations. Essential Functions:

Applies the Solidworks 3D CAD system to the creation of mechanical layouts and drawings.

Develops detailed fabrication and assembly drawings and performs tolerances analysis.

Designs interconnecting brackets and support structure between components and subsystems.

Assists the lead mechanical engineer in cost estimates and components selection.

Conducts simpler thermal and structural analyses under the guidance of lead mechanical engineers.

Provides engineering support to system integration efforts, including production support.

Coordinates and executes engineering design changes and performs some checking work.

Uses established and well defined engineering procedures.

Qualifications:

Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university and 2 years experience and/or training in mechanical engineering.

Able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience with additive manufacturing materials and techniques

Good mathmatical skills.

Good communication skills.

Practical experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Practical experience with 3-D CAD (Solidworks preferred) and analysis software tools (ANSYS).
