We want you to join our team!Overall Purpose:The Engineer – Metering , under semi-direct supervision, is responsible for supporting the overall operation of Duquesne Light’s Meter Services organization. Support will include the day-to-day needs of field and office employees, with a focus on developing a technical expertise in multiple software programs as well as an enhanced understanding of industry standards in the field of metering. This position will ensure that high levels of accuracy and reliability for revenue metering installations are maintained as specified by DLC and regulatory agencies.Location: Hybrid (see below), downtown Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaJob Responsibilities:
Contribute to design of metering schemes for cogenerators, multi-location load analysis, and complicated rate structure tariffs, for the purpose of proper measurement of energy consumption and generation.
Maintain regulatory compliance of annual in service testing and exchange programs, and ensure their completion in a timely manner.
Prepare meter recommendations that ensure proper design of meter installations.
Work collaboratively with Meter Services team members to identify and solve complex metering issues that impact customer billing.
Provide support and management of meter inventory and shop testing scripting with meter management software.
Provide technical input for software technology and testing related to the Metering Services Organization.
Independently create, modify and run SQL and scripting languages as necessary to provide or modify data needed for operations.
Coordinate, develop, recommend and justify implementation of new technology/metering equipment to provide improved operating efficiency, reduced operating costs, increased accuracy and reliability within corporate guidelines and budget allocations.
Coordinate the procurement of field test equipment and appropriate regulatory agency certification and provide personnel training for field use to assure that company meters are calibrated accurately.
Develop and implement company metering standards to ensure that proper metering designs are built according to applicable codes.
Coordinate with the Training Department to provide the necessary training and training materials for engineering and field personnel on any new or existing policies, testing equipment and maintenance method
Provide support to all members of the Metering Systems organization, escalating and communicating needs as necessary and appropriate.
Education/Experience:
Roles at this level require an Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university.
Electrical Engineering degree is strongly preferred.
Two (2+) or more years of experience required.
Valid state driver’s license required.
Skills/Abilities:

Strong problem solving/analytical skills
Experience with SQL and scripting

When conducting field visits, work sites may have less than desirable conditions including but not limited to climbing ladders, walking in wooded areas, or visiting hazardous locations.Hybrid WorkPosition follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely.
