Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking an experienced, highly skilled and proficient GIS Specialist III for immediate employment in the Conshohocken or Pittsburgh, PA office in a full-time role. The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment in both in-person and virtual (telework) settings. This position provides unlimited career growth potential while collaborating with a team comprised of a variety of technical staff and project managers in support of AECOM’s clients, including natural gas, electric utilities, renewable energy, and other focus areas.This person will report to the Conshohocken or Pittsburgh, PA office and will be part of AECOM’s Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) team. The successful candidate will use their deep knowledge of GIS, data management, data analytics, and critical thinking skills to lead other GIS team members and support our clients and AECOM’s project teams. The ideal candidate will need to thrive in a challenging environment, be flexible on schedule to meet project deadlines, meet billable hours goals and have attention to detail, and provide a broad range of GIS skills and quality control (QA/QC) capabilities.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Independently executes and delivers GIS projects of moderate to highly technical nature and complexity, including geodatabases and similar systems.

Develop and maintain GIS standards, databases, reports, and mapping.

Create, organize, manipulate, and extract GIS and other data for reporting, analysis,

presentation purposes.

Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components.

Work with the EPP team on a variety of utility siting and environmental impact assessment projects, as the GIS technical lead and quality reviewer.

Mentor and train junior GIS staff, resolve technical issues and assist with other staff with troubleshooting.

Prepare and maintain internal and external project documentation, including quality control documentation.

Coordinate with internal teams such as cultural resources, ecologist, other GIS staff, and other technical experts.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field +4 years of GIS, GIS-related programing/coding, utility siting, or other relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with electric utility, natural gas, and/or renewable energy clients.

ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Enterprise, and/or other relevant ArcGIS software.

ESRI and other geoprocessing tools and Python, SQL and/or other coding experience.

Custom Python and other coding writing capabilities for data analysis and data automation.

In-depth technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization and cartographic design.

Utility siting experience, technical writing capabilities, working knowledge of public utility fling documents and applications, and public outreach roles (i.e., Siting experience).

Relevant experience in:

Staff training or mentoring experience in a multidisciplinary GIS based support role.

High degree of self-motivation and performance and team approach.

Excellent and relevant references.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
