Tax Specialist

Description We are seeking a Tax Manager - Public to join our team in the Finance Consulting industry, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role focuses on complex financial planning and tax management, with a strong emphasis on customer service and efficient problem-solving. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of tax laws, accounting principles, and the ability to mentor team members during the tax season.Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for complex financial planning needs and research, and provide expert advice to relationship managers Oversee the processing of about 1,000 returns from a compliance standpoint, with the support of a tax director and a partner Act as a signer for tax returns, with a focus on capacity relief during tax season Provide guidance on the front end of complex financial planning issues Utilize accounting software systems and financial services tools such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Conduct auditing and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations Oversee entity formation and income tax accounting processes Mentor team members, especially during the tax season, to ensure efficient and accurate processing of returns Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations, and educate team members and clients about these changes Work closely with other wealth strategists and advisors to ensure comprehensive financial solutions for clientsRequirements Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the finance consulting industry Expertise in tax management in the public sector Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and ADP - Financial Services Experience with CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Excellent understanding of Accounting Functions Proven skills in Auditing Strong knowledge of Compliance procedures Experience in Entity Formation Proficiency in Income Tax Accounting Must have the legal right to work in the location of the job Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion Excellent problem solving and decision making skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.
