Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Part-Time Baker to join our team in Braddock, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will work in a commercial kitchen environment, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality baked goods. This position requires a commitment of one day per week initially.
Responsibilities:
Baking: Prepare various baked goods - pastries, cakes, and special request items. Follow traditional and innovative recipes to maintain quality and consistency.
Ingredient Preparation: Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes. Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in baking.
Kitchen Operations: Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
Inventory Management: Manage kitchen inventory by tracking supplies, ordering ingredients as needed, and reducing waste.
Product Development: Contribute to creating and developing new recipes and menu items.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods.
Qualifications:
-Proven experience as a Baker in a professional kitchen environment.
-Strong knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making process.
-Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and safety protocols.
-Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
-Good time-management skills and ability to work under pressure.
-A high school diploma or equivalent; culinary school or baking/pastry certification is preferred.
