The Pocono Environmental Education Center’s dining hall is searching for cooks. Job is fulltime during the busy season. Our busiest season is March-November, with hours available at other times depending on job performance. PEEC serves a variety of guests from school age students and campers, to adults attending workshops, conferences, and retreats.
Job Responsibilities:
- Cooks are responsible for assigned shift; this means the meal is prepped, cooked and served, dining hall is cleaned, and any other prep work is completed within scheduled time.
- Cooks will mostly do the cooking, but must be willing to help out when needed.
- Must be responsible for staff and kitchen when manager is not present.
- Must demonstrate professional and appropriate workplace behavior.
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service for the guests.
- Must be a team player with a friendly and positive attitude.
- Must be able to take initiative without direct orders.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Kitchen experience is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServSafe certified is a plus
- Experience with dietary restrictions is a plus
