IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service Responsibilities Serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) for the US Army mission programs. Review all subsystem information Assurance related documentation. Assist in systems risk planning with developers, vendors, project managers and higher-level managers. Execute vulnerability assessments using approved DOD scan and analysis tools. Consult for mission programs at working group meetings, security reviews, program status reviews and design reviews. Provide System Readiness Testing (SRT) Cybersecurity analysis reports against subsystem submitted data. Evaluate effectiveness of policy and procedures and provide guidance on cybersecurity program requirements. Maintain policy updates for Assured Compliance Assessment Solution Content Automation Protocol (ACAS), Nessus, and SCAP scanning tools. Represent the Command in technical interactions with other governmental Departments regarding information technical security operations. Basic Requirements IT Specialist GS-2210-13- IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below, based on the grade-level required, at this position being filled. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others. 2.Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3.Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which include: 1) Evaluating system compliance with IT cybersecurity requirements and presenting finalized reports AND 2) Performing IT/cybersecurity vulnerability assessments as required by directives; AND 3) Recommending countermeasures to mitigate evolving Cybersecurity requirements as they apply to existing systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- 12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
