The College of Health and Human Development (HHD), Office of Research and Graduate Education seeks a dynamic and highly skilled professional with an excellent work ethic for the job of Training Grant Program Coordinator. This position will report to the Associate Coordinator of Grants and Contracts and will perform most work activities in a large volume, fast-paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment.
The selected individual's job responsibilities relate to the full lifecycle of sponsored training grants and award administration and will include, but are not limited to:Assist with pre-award/proposal activities and subsections as needed (to include budgets, cost share, training tables, biosketch, and management/mentoring plansProcess trainee/fellowship appointments and labor distributions, in PSU systems with several PSU offices, and in sponsor systemsAssist with budget (grant and cost share) set-up and oversightPrepare and maintain trainee expense tracking sheetsxTrain and xTRACT data information input into NIH systemsRecord keeping of trainee participation records and mentor listsTrainee diversity reporting via sponsor portalsTracking of current trainee stats and past trainee (+15 years)Tracking/Collecting of publications, abstracts, and trainee stats for annual progress reportsHelp with MyNCBI data entryAssistance with the recruitment process and offer lettersSupport for NIH and other sponsor visits
The Training Grant Program Coordinator will have a special focus on all aspects of our unique training grant portfolios and their lifecycle needs. This person will work closely with central administration, departments, faculty, staff, trainees, and external sponsors; as well as our training grant leadership teams to continue and improve upon best practices for these highly complex programs. Excellent communication skills and customer service are critical and necessary.
The location of this position is flexible and can operate fully remote, in-person at the University Park Campus, or in a hybrid model of both in-person and remote. Standard working hours are in the eastern time zone.
Education and Experience:
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires flexibility and self-management skills, including the ability to prioritize among a large number of diverse responsibilities. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are required. The capability to work both independently and as a team member and the ability to multitask and respond professionally in challenging situations is essential. Knowledge of federal government regulations is highly preferred. Familiarity with advanced Microsoft Word and Excel functions, and the Strategic Information Management System (SIMS); both reporting and budget and award management experience highly preferred.
