THE POSITIONAllegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking hard-working, robust, detailed-oriented social workers for our Office of Children, Youth, and Families (OCYF). This is a rewarding opportunity to work with considerable independence and minimal supervision overseeing and coordinating complex and specialized social service functions for youth and families. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThese County Social Worker 2 positions serve as Health Enrollment Coordinators for Allegheny DHS, OCYF, under the manager of placement stability and the supervisor of health enrollment. Responsibilities include providing intensive care management and ensuring agency responsiveness to youth and family needs. Work involves coordination with Pennsylvania local and state Offices of Medical Assistance Programs including physical and behavioral health managed care organizations under Health Choices and private insurers to facilitate health enrollment and continuity of care. Collaboration is also key for working in consultation with the county solicitor and paralegal staff to provide documentation and testimony to inform the health status for case management and permanency planning.This position also supports transition age youth through direct education and advocacy as well as facilitates health enrollment for youth served through Juvenile Probation. Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as a County Social Worker 1;or

Two years of professional social work experience in a public or private social services agency and graduation from an approved graduate school of social work.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
