Our promise is to provide outstanding service as it remains to be our first and foremost mission.Position Summary: The role of the APM is to work collaboratively with project team members and stakeholders to support project work from requirements gathering and scope creation through project close. As a preliminary step to coordinating with the Project Manager (“PM”) to develop a project plan, the APM will be responsible for working with the project stakeholders to document the necessary business requirements. These projects will be primarily digital transformation and process creation/improvement in nature, but will also include consultation support in the form of discussion facilitation and coaching of functional leaders. The APM will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, and will work constructively with the teams and senior leadership to ensure the success of projects.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Manage discussions with department and operations leaders to discuss project scope, business requirements, process gaps and inefficiencies, and desired project outcomes.
Formally document business requirements that are organized, easy to interpret, and satisfy all business requirements identified during the investigation phase of the project
Lead the drafting and reporting of project key performance indicators (KPIs)
Construct budget and schedule baselines to be tracked during project life cycle
Perform root-cause analysis on both current and future business controls and workflows
The ability to critically think through problems by appropriately identifying issues, designing project scope and assessing viability of solutions
Foster and maintain vendor relationships from initial vendor selection through project close; representing A. Duie Pyle with courtesy and a high degree of professionalism
Build rapport and consensus amongst project team and necessary external stakeholders
Display exceptional listening and communication skills in order to articulate user needs clearly across functions.
Communicate effectively visually, verbally or in written formats with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors and customers.
Facilitate cross-functional conversations to solve complex problems and map multi-department processes.
Demonstrate self-confidence and clearly communicate when presenting findings project updates, and recommendations to project stakeholders and senior leaders
Coach functional leaders on project management best practices
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a related field
3-5 years of business analysis or project leadership experience
Technical Requirements
Proficient in Waterfall and Agile project management
Understanding of user story development and grooming
Proficient in drafting design specifications in support of process improvement and application development
At a minimum, must be proficient in the following programs:
MS Outlook
MS Word
MS Excel
MS Visio
MS PowerPoint
MS Project or other Project Management Software (preferred)
Domain knowledge in transportation, business administration, and/or information technology preferred
Physical Requirements
Occasional Travel by vehicle or by airplane to both company locations or vendor sites
Must be able to speak and understand detailed information through oral communication and be able to see clearly
May occasionally be required to lift objects up to or exceeding 25lbs
