Position Purpose: Under the direction of a Chief Operator, Assistant Project Manager, or Superintendent performs work involving the operation and maintenance of the sewage treatment facility, pump stations, Easton beach UV station, and CSO facilities. Troubleshoots, reports findings to Chief Operator provides input for corrective actions as well as implementation of corrective actions as directed. Maintains plant grounds to include snow removal, painting, and groundskeeping.Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Ensure pumps, conveyors, blowers, bar screens, rotary drum thickeners, and other wastewater-related equipment operate as designed.Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate equipment to assure proper wastewater treatment procedures are achieved.Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses and measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.Collects samples, reads, gauges, enters data as required.Performs tasks associated with the upkeep and maintenance of the plant grounds to include painting, grass cutting, debris, and snow removal.Safely operate company owned vehicles, including snowplows, and lawn equipment.Assists with minor repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as required.May be required to work during wet weather conditions. Follow all PPE and safety related procedures. May be required to participate in confined space activities.Work Environment: Spends 100% of the time in the operations environment.Typically spends 25 – 35% of time exposed to outdoor and sometimes inclement weather. Company service vehicles are used as required.Travels 1 – 2 times per year for company provided training. May serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call.Possible Work Hazards: May be exposed to possible operations hazards including fumes, dust, toxic and caustic chemicals, noise, rotating machinery, high pressure and hot and cold temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.
