I. SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSEThe Security Manager reports to the Director of Safety and Security and is responsible for ensuring that the Security Department reflects the Mission, Vision and Values of AnMed Resources. He/She is expected to exemplify the honesty and integrity as expressed in the AnMed Staff Code of Conduct and he must be an acceptable candidate for licensing of AnMed as a Proprietary Security Agency by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. He/She is responsible for providing security for the physical premises of all AnMed service delivery sites, and for the invitees of AnMed through preservation of peace and order. He/She is responsible for the identification and implementation of state-of-the-art security technology.II. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To assist in establishing rules, regulations and procedures of the Security department which will enhance AnMed’s ability to properly secure the business interests of AnMed.
To train subordinates on procedures, rules and regulations of AnMed so as to comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
To plan work schedules for the Security Department and see that these schedules are met.
To hire and manage officers that will be an asset to AnMed’s business interests.
To effectively evaluate the performance of the Security Department’s Leadership team.
To familiarize subordinates with information concerning activities in and around the service delivery sites of AnMed which have impact on AnMed’s Security interests.
To maintain effective and productive relationships between Security and all other AnMed departments, enhancing an atmosphere of cooperation and protection.
To investigate the reports of crime (follow-up) throughout AnMed.
To investigate any and all reports of misconduct by subordinates, patients, visitors, vendors and staff.
To liaison between the Security Department and leaders throughout AnMed, as well as local law enforcement agencies, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), other Health Care organizations and key partners throughout the community.
Work closely with Security Integrators on ensuring AnMed has the most up to date and latest technology and to ensure internal investments are maintained as needed.
To develop, plan and manage the Security Department’s operational budget for all locations.
III. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS· BA or BS Degree preferred, due to the level of written regulations from state and federal agencies, it requires this level of education to interpret and comply with these standards.And/or· Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in working with Security and/or Law Enforcement.· Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a leadership position.
