Job Summary:
Lead construction management, inspections, quality assurance, safety, and contract oversight for the Asheville VA Medical Center. This role provides senior leadership and coordinates with VA staff, contractors, and project teams.Key Responsibilities:Lead construction projects from planning through completionManage schedule, cost, quality, and project performanceOversee construction inspections and quality assurance teamsReview RFIs, submittals, plans, specifications, and as-built drawingsEnsure compliance with contracts, OSHA, safety, and construction standardsMonitor contractor performance and correct deficienciesPrepare daily progress, inspection, and surveillance reportsLead project meetings and provide updates to VA leadershipTrack RFIs, submittals, deficiencies, and project documentationSupport contract administration and final inspectionsRequired Qualifications:10+ years of construction/project management experienceExperience managing facility construction projects, including schedule, cost, design, and constructionBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture OR 14 years of directly related experienceOSHA 30 CertificationValid driver’s licenseStrong communication and organizational skillsFluent EnglishProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and SharePointPreferred/Additional:VA or hospital construction experienceKnowledge of hospital engineering disciplinesStrong understanding of construction documents and OSHA regulationsComfortable working on active construction sites and in various weather conditionsOccasional nights, weekends, or holidays may be required
