We're seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer (L2) to join our Sydney Airport team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, solving technical challenges, and working directly with customers in a fast-paced operational environment.As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and supporting advanced X-ray and trace detection systems that play a critical role in aviation and security operations. You'll work both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional customer service and technical excellence.What You'll Be DoingTroubleshoot, service, maintain and repair X-ray and trace detection equipmentComplete preventative maintenance activities in line with service agreements and maintenance schedulesRespond to equipment breakdowns and corrective maintenance requests within agreed KPI timeframesDiagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using multimeters, diagnostic software and testing equipmentReplace motors, belts, rollers, X-ray generators and other mechanical componentsConduct inspections, cleaning, repairs and component replacement activities within equipmentInstall, commission and test new systems at customer sitesComplete service reports, maintenance records and technical documentation accurately and on timeManage spare parts consumption and inventory transactions through internal systemsTravel to customer sites across metropolitan, regional and remote locations when requiredParticipate in an on-call roster and provide remote and onsite technical supportAnalyse service data and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesSupport, coach and mentor junior engineers and new team membersMaintain safe work practices and contribute to a strong safety cultureCollaborate effectively with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders
