Linux Installation and Support Engineer

ResponsibilitiesNoblis is seeking a Fleet Installation and Support Engineer with a strong Linux systems administration background, and who is a passionate, flexible, and highly motivated team player to join our group of Information Technology professionals. Will provide installation and technical support services for the new ADNS CaaS project.Job Duties Include: Provide Tier 3 and 4 distance and onsite support of networks, servers and data communications paths Research issues using available resources Advise customer on appropriate actions Provide support and integration expertise for U.S. Navy network systems and associated systems Provide on-site technical assistance to operational units worldwide Perform systems operations integration for various U.S. Navy networks Perform software and hardware product testing on Linux-based operating systems and networks Work with development team to reproduce/troubleshoot issues encountered during testing Assist in management of project test beds and network devices, including configuration of Linux and Windows test support systems and layer 2 & 3 switches and routers Assist Subject Matter Experts and Technical Writers with documentation efforts (test cases, test reports, software load plans) Track all changes and update documents as required and ensure updated documents are staffed to lead engineer for approval Troubleshoot, document, and track software anomalies and deficiencies in engineering teams configuration management software Provide testing and technical writing support to other team members when not on TDYRequired QualificationsBachelors Degree and2+ years of experience with software testing and test processes and a total of 8+ years’ experience working with a wide range of IT products. A CompTIA Security+ CE or ability to receive within 3 months U.S. Citizenship Possession of or the ability to maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8 Server Operating Systems or similar Linux distributions (CentOS, Ubuntu). Demonstrated knowledge of hardware specifications found in desktops, laptops, and servers Strong documentation and oral communication skills The ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities Self-motivation, strong work ethic and commitment to quality A passion for learning about, and working in the IT industry Knowledge of virtualization technologies using Red Hat KVM, and ESX VMwareAble to Travel up to 10%Desired Qualifications Experience with Navy IT-21 networks using ADNS and CANES Knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals CompTIA Linux+ and/or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certificationsOverviewNoblis (http://www.noblis.org/) and our wholly owned subsidiaries, Noblis ESI , and Noblis MSD tackle the nation's toughest problems and apply advanced solutions to our clients' most critical missions.
