We are creating a new digital destination to unite armchair detectives across the country as we dive deeper into the world of True Crime.To help bring our vision to life, we are seeking an experienced Producer/Editor who has a strong background bringing creative projects to life in all mediums and can take assigned stories through all stages of production from conception to completion. In this role you will be equal parts writer, producer, and editor, and will be responsible for delivering a high-volume of highly sharable original content for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, as well new digital platforms as they evolve. The content you create will take on many forms including, but not limited to, static images, image carousels, short-form video, and super-sized video packages.To be successful in this role you must be an expert at collaborating to convey project needs to ensure we are captivating audiences with compelling True Crime content. You should come to this role with a keen interest in the genre, as well as having a proven track record in creating multi-platform original programming across digital, video, and audio. A journalism background would be a major plus. Attend daily Content Strategy Sessions, and pitch/produce original social content surrounding the true crime stories of the moment.

Review daily broadcasts, digital content, and raw video to create engaging true crime social content aligned to our editorial vision

Oversee all research elements for assigned projects including obtaining court records, submitting FOIA requests, thoroughly researching archives to legally secure materials for production.

Manage the clearance and permission of use for third party assets and collaborate with Sinclair news content centers to ensure the proper delivery of assets to specs.

Pitch, script, and produce/edit original photo/video content

Research and scout locations and interview subjects and obtain all necessary permissions

Shoot/Direct field productions and in-studio content.

Work in coordination with Creative Services to develop and design social graphics that maintain brand guidelines through all video and social content.

Coordinate with national and local news teams on coverage plans for co-presented stories

Review social and digital analytics and translate them into actionable steps to increase engagement and content performance.

Qualifications:

10+ years writing/producing original content in print, video, and social. News background preferred, but not required.

Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in all aspects of video production including shooting, lighting, sound recording & editing, and ability to operate all associated equipment (ie DSLR or iPhone capture)

Must have a solid understanding of layout and design and the ability to follow brand guidelines to ensure a consistent brand aesthetic across all assets.

Social Media expert with extensive familiarity with all platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.

Substantial understanding of and passion for audience analytics.

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Premiere Rush, Photoshop, After Effects, etc), and other creative software.

Familiarity with podcast production is also a plus.

This position requires impeccable spelling and grammar, a deep understanding of social media trends and what works on each platform, vertical video editing skills, and the ability to capture well composed videos on a phone.

Must be highly motivated, extremely organized, deadline oriented, and come to the position with a uniquely creative mind.

Must be comfortable with ambiguity and change that may come about as our team evolves over time
