As the Senior Accessibility Program Manager, you will develop and implement a strategic plan for prioritizing accessibility efforts within Pearson VUE and gather business requirements for accessibility and accommodations features within VUE products. You will also lead efforts to identify and support the collection of metrics that demonstrate progress in improving the accessibility of Pearson products within a defined maturity model.Major Responsibilities:Gather requirements for conducting accessibility conformance testing for the Accessibility Quality Assurance team.
Partner with product owners and technical leads to understand the scope of current software solutions.
Develop plans to address accessibility gaps in test sponsor supplied assessment content.
Evaluate incoming requests for proposals (RFP) for requirements related to accessibility and accommodations.
Participate in the proposal response process by creating compelling text to outline current offerings.
Gather business and technical requirements for new accessibility and accommodations features and create detailed product development requirements / user stories for new features.
Partner with business analysts and technical leads to create estimates for developing new accessibility features.
Track and manage the maintenance of Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) and provide guidance to the teams responsible for maintaining accessibility documentation of VUE products.
Provide leadership for strategic business initiatives related to accessibility.
Establish and maintain relevant business metrics.
Build and maintain successful collaborative business relationships with clients, internal team members, and third-party vendors.
Support the management of accessibility personnel resources assigned to support VUE products
Other duties as assigned.
The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is a minimum of $95K. Education:Bachelor's degree requiredCertification(s) or required training:International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)Experience:Minimum of five years of experience managing technical projects
Minimum of five years gathering and managing technical requirements for accessibility enhancements to websites or applications
Minimum of three years in the field of accessibility
Special Knowledge and Skills:Ability to work productively with diverse teams.
Thorough understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA)
Effective and persuasive written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with technical staff, interpret technical terminology, and manage workflows to complete projects
Understanding of disability laws, regulations, and accommodation practices within assessment, educational institutions, and businesses preferred
Ability to initiate and manage the acquisition of new skills as needed to meet job requirements
Knowledge of access needs for people with disabilities in the context of assessment and certification
Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little-to-no supervision
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
