Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the finance industry, located in Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves complex financial tasks within the accounting department, including managing accounting activities and ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities: Conduct research on GAAP accounting to ensure compliance and up-to-date knowledge Perform month-end close reconciliations to ensure accurate accounting records Utilize NetSuite for various accounting operations, enhancing department efficiency Leverage proficiency in Microsoft Excel to perform complex calculations and generate reports Manage Mergers & Acquisitions procedures, including ASC805, to support business growth Participate in year-end closings to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Utilize Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP to manage and analyze data Act as a key player in filling multiple roles within the accounting team Report directly to the department head, providing crucial updates and information. Requirements Must possess advanced proficiency in NetSuite. Should have a solid understanding of GAAP Accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, including the ability to use Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP. Experience with Month End Close and Year End Closings is necessary. Must have prior experience with Mergers & Acquisitions (M& A). Should have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. Professional certification such as a CPA is preferred. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required. Must have the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines. Experience in financial reporting and regulatory filings is preferred. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high ethical standards. Proficiency in other financial software and systems is a plus. Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
