Description We are in search of an organized and detail-focused Staff Accountant to join our team in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry located in Charleston, South Carolina. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity where you will work alongside an Accounts Payable (AP) specialist, handle 1500-2000 invoices monthly, and perform tasks related to General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close. Responsibilities: Process and handle a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently Assist in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Perform regular Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy Maintain and update the General Ledger regularly Prepare and record Journal Entries as needed Participate in Month End Close procedures Use Microsoft Excel extensively for various accounting tasks Utilize Yardi Breeze and Yardi Property Management software for property management accounting functions Collaborate closely with the AP specialist and other team members to ensure smooth financial operations. Requirements Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial modelling and data management. Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations. Familiarity with General Ledger operations and maintenance. Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries accurately and timely. Experience with Month End Close procedures. Knowledge of Yardi Breeze, Yardi, and Yardi Property Management software is desirable. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
