Riloh Studios in North Charleston, is seeking Paint Prep & Sanders to join our team! Part time or full time, ideal for students, we can work with your class schedule.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Paint Prep & Sander is responsible for preparing brass and steel to be finished using, pneumatic orbital sanders, buffing wheels, sand blasters and grinders. This will include preparation and "jigging" of parts to be dipped, aged, or painted.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-Sanding or grinding parts according to specific finish requirements and SOPs
Remove grease, dirt, paint or rust from parts in preparation for paint or patina application, using abrasives, solvents, washing tanks or sand blasters.
Clean equipment and work areas.
Collect all tools and place them back in the proper toolboxes.
Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
Must wear proper PPE (dust masks, nitrile gloves safty glasses, etc.).
Reliable transportation and clean driving record.
Ability to complete projects on time and on budget.
Excellent communication and team-building skills.
High School Diploma or equivalent.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and smell.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Experience in manufacturing and forklift certification welcome but not required.
