Minimum Requirements:

1. A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience. Preferred Requirements: A high school diploma and four years responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative experience.

2. Ability to exercise judgment in establishing, applying and interpreting policies and procedures. Ability to manage a high number of diverse courses simultaneously. Must have time management skills to monitor course schedules. Must have strong data base entry skills, phone and customer service skills, knowledge of Microsoft word and excel . Must have extensive knowledge of office management practices.

3. Works under the general supervision of the regional supervisor. Has discretion in day-to-day activities and setting priorities for job completion within set guidelines. Will be expected to exercise discretion and judgment in dealing with situations and customers. Coordinates office activities in the absence of the Regional Coordinator.

4. Must be congenial and be a team player. Must display a customer service approach with fire service personnel, including students, as well as customers and other visitors. Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Must have strong organizational skills and thoroughness in work assignments.

Job Description:

1. Responsible for maintaining the course coordination/delivery process for all programs in the region from initial request of a course to the final processing of the course and sends the completed course package to the Columbia office.

2.Provides management support and performs complex secretarial, administrative and business support activities for the Regional Supervisor. This includes assisting with hiring of qualified instructors, assist with assigning instructors to programs as needed, reviewing travel reimbursement forms, and processing financial billing transactions. Maintains accurate inventory of all course materials, books and office supplies and re-orders as needed.

3.Process students registrations in the on-line database for courses to include verification of prerequisites for course entry and reviewing documents to ensure accurate information is provided" Cross checks current records and updates database and office records as needed. Responds to request for training, transcripts and certificates for students and fire service personnel.

4.Responsible for creation of and maintaining the regional course section number system, regional master calendar and monthly course activity and finance reports and compiles detailed statistical data relating to regional activities.

5.Performs other duties as assigned including proctoring exams, grading tests etc. Coordinates regional office activities in the absence of the Regional Coordinator.
