Ables Landscapes, an award-winning landscape company in Charleston, SC, is hiring for the position of Director of Landscape Maintenance. Based in Hollywood, SC, Ables Landscapes has been creating beautiful outdoor living in the Lowcountry for over 45 years and provides Design, Build, and Maintenance services.Here’s what you’d do: Lead a team of Area Managers, Crew Leaders, and Crew Members to provide the best landscape and garden maintenance in Charleston.Consult with potential new clients and create estimates.Be the point-person for customer service and quality control.Create schedules and routes for ten crews.Work alongside the CEO to monitor efficiency and profitability.What winning would look like: Performance + Quality—Coordinating materials, people, and equipment to ensure job site quality meets Ables Landscapes standards.Inspecting properties prior to scheduled service to develop an appropriate action plan, and performing hands-on work as needed.Addressing issues before they arise by proactively monitoring irrigation systems and areas with the potential for disease or insect problems.Operations—Delegating tasks to Area Managers and Crew LeadersCoordinating with the Gardening and Maintenance Administrative Assistant to support invoicing, HR needs, and updating client information.Ordering materials as needed.Use of KPIs to monitor and evaluate company goals.Personnel—Working with the recruiter to identify staffing needs, perform hiring duties, and assist in preparing daily crew schedules.Developing and reviewing growth plans for employees, and providing counsel and discipline.Providing crew member training, including proper equipment operation, pruning techniques, safety, and quality standards.Safety—Ensure all employees have proper PPE.Perform safety checks on vehicles and equipment.We think you may be a great fit if you have…A minimum of 4 years of prior experience in a supervisory role.A 2-year degree or more in a landscape-related field or certification by a landscape association.And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have…A passion for numbers and the desire to monitor, evaluate and create measurements around company goals.Experience with Landscape Management Network Software (LMN) Apply now in 2 minutes!
