Superior Blacktop Services is a growing asphalt maintenance company looking for an Account Manager. We are currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Summerville, SC location.
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting and repairing vehicles, machinery, and light trucks. The Mechanic will oversee maintenance inspections, monitor inventory, assemble mechanical components, and perform repairs.
Responsibilities:
-Analyze malfunctions and repairs. Perform diagnosis and repair equipment as required.
-Knowledge of heavy site construction equipment operation, maintenance, capability, use, and function.
-Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
-Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
-Identify parts needs and place orders.
-Report any additional work required on equipment to the manager.
-Performs standard and preventive vehicle maintenance.
-Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
-Insures safety & longevity of our fleet through thorough inspections.
-Works in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT)
-Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
-Ability to MIG, TIG and stick weld.
-Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
Job Requirements
-Must have at least 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic with heavy equipment and diesel capabilities/knowledge.
-Knowledge of all types of construction equipment (Cat skid steers, Cat Rollers, Weiler Asphalt Pavers, Isuzu 5500 Trucks, Small Engines/equipment, Trailers exc)
-Ability to use hand tools and power tools to repair vehicles and equipment.
-Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
-Work in a shop environment.
-Valid and appropriate in-state drivers license is required.
-Candidates with their own tools are preferred but not required.
