(1) Backhoe/Excavator Operator
(1) Dozer Operator
(1) Loader Operator
Experience Only Need to Apply. You will be tested on jobsite for skill proficiency
Description: The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, backhoes/excavator, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, compactors, off-road dump truck, off-road fuel truck, skid steers and other pieces of equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.
Key duties/responsibilities:
Operate trucks or equipment of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various materials. The operator must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Operates front end loaders, backhoes/excavators, dozers, graders, rollers, compactors, off-road dump trucks, off-road fuel trucks, skid steers and other pieces of heavy equipment
Performs required equipment maintenance and storage
Must have knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques
Must have knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
Performs required record keeping
Knowledge of truck and equipment safety
Works with a maintenance crew or as a laborer when not operating equipment;
Performs required equipment cleaning per standards and procedures
Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment. Performs other related duties as required.
. Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in equipment operation, and hazards and applicable safety rules and precautions for heavy equipment operation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing and pulling. Work outdoors in different climates. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
