HVAC Service Manager

ClimateMakers HVAC Service Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the service department to ensure operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This role oversees service technicians, coordinates daily schedules, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and acts as the primary liaison between customers, technicians, and company leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate service technicians and support staff.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching for technical and customer service skills.

Promote a positive, team-oriented culture that prioritizes safety, accountability, and customer satisfaction.

Operations & Scheduling:

Oversee daily service operations, including technician dispatching and workload balancing.

Review and approve work orders, job costing, and invoicing accuracy.

Monitor service calls to ensure timely completion and high-quality standards.

Customer Service:

Act as an escalation point for customer concerns and resolve issues professionally.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring repeat business and referrals.

Review customer feedback to improve processes and service delivery.

Financial & Business Management:

Track service department KPIs (revenue, margins, labor efficiency, callback rates).

Work with management to set annual goals, budgets, and growth strategies.

Approve timecards, manage departmental expenses, and control inventory.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all service work adheres to local, state, and federal codes, as well as company standards.

Enforce safety policies and conduct regular safety meetings.

Stay current with HVAC industry trends, certifications, and regulations.

Qualifications:

5+ years of HVAC service experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.

Strong technical knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC systems.

Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

Business acumen with understanding of P&L, KPIs, and budgeting.

EPA Universal Certification (preferred).

Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Performance Metrics (KPIs):

Customer satisfaction and retention rates.

Service revenue growth and profitability.

Technician productivity and first-time fix rates.

Reduction of callbacks and warranty claims.

Employee retention and training progress.
