Disbursements Manager will lead payroll, accounts payable, and refund operations. Reporting to the AVP/Controller, this role ensures timely, accurate disbursements in compliance with policies and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee payroll, vendor payments, and refunds
Ensure compliance with IRS and Title IV regulations
Maintain internal controls and reconcile related accounts
Collaborate with HR, Financial Aid, and other departments
Prepare reports and support audits
Supervise and train disbursement staff
Recommend process improvements and optimize ERP usage (Jenzabar)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3–5 years of experience in payroll/AP; higher ed or nonprofit preferred
Supervisory experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of payroll tax and financial aid refund regulations
Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (Jenzabar a plus)
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
